ATI 2D better than nVidia ? proof inside!

Sorry had to re-calibrate my screen too in the process and make sure all settings are to my liking 
I love it! 2D somehow just looks clearer than the nVidia 2D quality, I don't know how better to describe it other than in a photographic term, like you stuck a cheap unbranded UV filter over your lens then replaced it with a branded high quality one of the same type. The difference is subtle but it's clearly there if you're in a 2D environment a lot!.
This forum for example the blue shades are more prominent yet not too bright or fatiguing against the grey text input post box!

Digital Vibrance option in "Adjust desktop colour settings" inside the Nvidia control panel. I seen this also when changing to Nvidia but once this is set to a certain level you get the vibrancy back that you get with stock ATI cards.
Ah fair enough. It's been a while since I used ATI as I've had the GTX so I've not noticed much except the difference in vibrancy when I was benching the 2900Pro. I'll be getting a 4870 or X2 4870 soon myself, I only commented on this as I've seen a few who after changing the vibrancy level were content.
.if you setup both for 6500K the colors should look identical - digital vibrancy is a no no imo anyhow. Any difference in clarity is probably down to the difference in color. As for sharpness some driver versions seem to be better than others 
thats one thing I've not liked about nVidia - you can get one driver thats really sharp and clear and the next will be slightly fuzzy.

I used to have to have a mix of high, 512 reflections and medium trees + some ultra on the 8800GT in order to peak 60fps !
