Hi all
I have a couple of HIS 3870's in this machine which is a quad core 6700, 2gig ram etc.
When i am playing back blu ray rips either with VLC Media Player or Media Player classic, it gets quite choppy and it seems if its missing frames etc.
I have turned of my AV software and tried it both with crossfire on and off and it doesnt make much difference.
When playing my cpu hits 50-60% util so im wondering if that may be causing an issue.
I have checked ATI's site out and the 3870's have the UVD chips on them for hardware decoding rather than software, any idea what players support this and if you are running that particular application, what if any changes to the settings you had to make.
Cheers
Peter
