Guys need your help

are there different models of the 3870

I see some listed as 3870 , 3870 XT

I know the 3870x2 is the daddy, but are the 2 other versions or just manufacturers marketing naming policies.

There's no difference, a 3870 "XT" is just a 3870, ATi doesn't actually call it a 3870 XT, other people seem to just like adding it on. ATi are just sticking with numbers from now on and dropping all XTs, Pros ot anything else. The 3870X2 is slightly different with the X2 meaning "times 2" as it has two GPUs.

yeah... note that by the same token, the 3850 often gets called the 3850 pro
