Hi all,

I'm new to the 48xx series cards so still getting use to my 4870. I read a post saying its best to set 'filter= edge detect' in CC panel. I did and was surprised to see a very nice improvment to the already great image quality. I was wondering what other setting it was best to change? At the moment I have everything set to 'apllication preferences', is that the best?

Thanks

Hi mate

Don't want to takeover the thread but this is my first ATI card and was also wondering if there are any important settings I should look for.

By the way, where do I set the 'filter' setting in CCC?

Edge detect is very nice, but at quite a big performance hit, so not all games might be able to cope with it.

Put the filter setting at Highest quality.

i usually just set the CCC to "optimal quality"...then open up the CCC and set the AA settings to either 8x box or 8x Edge detect depending on the game...then click use app settings.

Then use the in-game AA settings. For example with Grid if you set the CCC to 8x Edge detect and then "use app settings", then open up grid and change the ingame settings to 8xMSAA you will end up with 24x CSAA
