I am trying to setup 3d vision on ati, its all a bit confusing.

Nvidia had that utility to configure everything, ati however, i am not sure

I've got emitter built in the monitor along with the glasses. How do i go about setting up 3d though? on nvidia i was not able to do so becouse nvidia only wants people to use their emitter and some 3d monitors only. That syncmaster 3d utility, you can only use for games, it wont let me watch movies unless i pay. Can anyone shed some light onto this?

u need to buy a 3rd party software such as iz3d

He has the Samsung monitor which comes bundled with it.

Right OP, I assume you've installed the Samsung Mon thing from the disc, then Tridef.
Update Tridef to 5.2 from the site, or use the latest Samsung.

The media player is a weird one, people have commented saying their license is lacking for that, however mine isn't for some reason and works fine.
Power DVD 11 plays 3D Movies fine too.

The gaming with 3D is all through Tridef, you add the game and then launch.
Be sure to set it to direct 3D 120HZ.

The only problem with Tridef and Power DVD's media player is I can't for the life of me change the aspect ratio, I have some 4:3 stuff which is painful to watch and VLC Player can make it 16:9 and watchable, but I can't with Tridef =/.
