Hi everyone I am new here. Got a new computer about 3 or 4 months ago and it has been doing funny things on an d off since the day I got it. At first it would display small red squares of lines ( half a centimetre square) all across the page. These would flash up and then go away so I updated the drivers and though it was fixed.

Last month plyed red alert 3 and the same thing happened only the squares stayed up, then the screen turned blank (Said "No Signal") and I had to restart. This happened a lot so looked inside and saw nothing much except a cable lying on top of the card (Opposite side to fan) but I think that is normal? Wobbled the card slightly and all seemed fine. Played cryis recently and the same thing happens, often only on the initial loadup screen.

The interesting thing is often after the error, during the restart I once got white dotted lines on the first start up page and often as lots of red and yellow flashing lines on the XP loading screen. These go away after this and the PC works normally. Updated every driver I could think but to no avail (deleted and reinstalled). I think it may be the PSU as it is 400W and the 4850 requires at least 450W (according to ati website) Could this be the problem? Sorry for ramling on.

PS:Card running idle is around 38* so I doubt it is heat related.

The problem comes and goes and my theory (by no means good with computers) is that it may occur more on hot days when the fans are working more which takes more power from the card. Seem logical?
