Ati 4850 with NF4

Hi there

Anybody running one of these with DFI NF4 MB? I believe this MB is not pci 1.0a and express 1.1 onwards.

I am in the same sort of boat, looking at getting a 4850 but not sure if it will work in my A8n-sli deluxe.

Anyone got any experience with a 4850 and early nf4 boards?

Got a 3870 running fine on one. The 4850 won't have any problems. The board is 1.0a.

The 3870's are not PCI-E 2.0 though.

Yes they are. We had this exact question asked at the time the 3800 series was released.

Ahh yes so it is, its the 3870 X2's that are not PCI-E 2.0, i got mixed up.

Running a 4870 with a sk.939 dfi expert (nf4 chipset), works perfect although you have to slightly remove part of the stock chipset cooler for the card (stock cooler) to work in PCIE slot 1.

Running fine on my ECS KN1SLI, and thats a 1.0a 8x board.
