actually I've seen amd chips severely bottlenecking the GPU scores of Crossfire setups....3dmark06 is really CPU dependent, and not just in the CPU tests

yep i overclocked my cpu my 3Dmark06 score jumped up by 2200 points.. overclocked my graphics card the score went up 200.![]()
With the CPU increase you are releasing graphic power as 1280x1024 bottlenecks in 3dmark. So when you increase the CPU speed you are getting a better CPU score as well as releasing more graphic rendering potential that is locked away. Watch your SM2/SM3/HDR scores raise every time you increase the CPU speed.
