Hey guys

I currently have the Ati 4870 and I have been given permission by the wife to get an upgrade for Xmas.

I game at 1900 x 1200. Playing FO3 atm as I have not yet completed it after having it for over a year! I have BF3 to play and Skyrim is coming for Xmas too. Would like to be able to play at this res with good FPS. SWTOR released but I dont think this will be too GFX intensive.

I have not really been following Hardware (for my sins **slaps wrist**) since I built the PC so no idea where to turn at the moment.

Although I have an Ati Card I have no affinity to either brand so dont mind Brand/Make/Model etc. I have a second screen and they both run over DVI so the card really needs to have dual DVI ports on the back.

Middle of december is the order date (from OCUK ofc) as SWTOR comes out then :-)

Budget £200-£300.

PC Spec -
Win 7 64-bit
Gigabyte X58-DS4
Intel 920 Quad Core (not overclocked and doing fine)
6Gb Ram
700w PSU
3 HDD

I'm in the same boat, can't wait for prices to finally shift downwards, feels like forever that they have been hovering. Can hopefully pick up a replacement high end card for the same kind of money I got mine for ~£170. :)

Really? £170 would be great as I could get a few more bits! Maybe even an SSD with the spare $$ ;-)

So once the 7k series is out do you think I should go for one of those or a Nvidia? Bearing in mind the £300 limit.

I'm also in the same boat looking for an upgrade from my 4870.

Will be waiting for the launch of the 7xxx series as others have said.

Nah, use the chance to get last gen stuff cheaper as demand is always high for new graphics cards. What's been happening is a pre order price will be announced, another shop will under cut that followed by another. If you can get in on that then you'll have a decent price provided the benchies are good. If you miss that window then expect to pay more whilst waiting for stock.

I'm hoping to either pickup a GTX 570 (with a custom cooler would be nice) or a 6950 2gb factory overclocked hopefully cheaper at around £200 or less. Might settle for a 560ti if the new graphics cards have a paper launch (could happen, the factories/channels aren't delivering so well, recession having an effect on amounts being stocked?).
