Ati 4870 x2 screen going black

dont know what it is with this card but the screen goes black for a second and comes back on does this radomly in 3d and 2d so no set patern to it can happen after reboot or be stable for hours on end then start all of a sudden apart from this the card runs fine in most games

no overheating of the card or any thing like that using the latest drivers for card and motherboard also motherboard bios the latest out

wondering has any one else had this problem and if so have u had any luck getting rid of it

try some hotfixes or something...i know that ati have hotfixes for there cards

if u use vista ,try turning off aero it stoped it for me on my 4870...hope that helps

i have a 4870 X2 on vista and don't remember having this type of error. only problem i seem to have had with it is that in some games when i turn shadows up i get some flickering i dunno if its the card but i had sold a 9800 GX2 to a friend and he tells me he has similar flickering when he turned his shadow setting up on the same game
