ATI 4890 can use AGEIA PhysX?

Hi folks,

I have an ati 4890 in vista 64 and I have installed AGEIA drivers v7.09.13

I though ATI can't do PhysX, why do I have those drivers in my system? shall i remove them?

Theres a few games that install the drivers for you. Did you used to have an nvidia card?

Some games just put the drivers in no matter what you have.

The drivers are still required for the software to work, even if you don't have the hardware. It's nothing to worry about

thanks guys, I was worry cos i read in another forum a guy getting low fraps whith the same card + physX drivers and i am getting low fraps with Company of Heroes which I know favours nvidia cards.

Yes, I had before an Nvidia GTX 260!

I had this, I uninstalled the drivers and the game in question still worked fine - I can't remember what the game was though.

Maybe UT3?

what you have is the software rendering phsyx wich using cpu cycles to do the physx not the gpu so you will have reduced performance in games.

physx with nvidia is done on the gpu
