ATI 5770 not booting

Have installed an ATI 5770 card into an ASUS M2V890 and upgraded the stock psu to a OcUK Crusade 450W Dual-Rail High Efficiency Power Supply

When booting, the pc powers up, the screen remains blanks. No beeps or anything. Pressing the power button again immediately powers down, so it's not in the process of booting into windows.

Any guesses?

I'm assuming you have plugged the power into the card?

Have you tried making PCE-i 1st display device in the bios and disabling onboard graphics?

The only real link I can find about it is here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18120862 but doesn't offer anything that seems to work.

Yep, changed all those settings under the BIOS. No joy.

Currently trying to update the BIOS, but the update software reckons the BIOS file is the wrong one and refuses to install it.

The mobo is a M2VTVM-VM890, I can olny find M2VTVM on their website.

Got another PSU to test with? Not sure that PSU is fine powering the 5770.

Searched Asus for M2V890 and found this.

If this is yours, it has bios updates at least.

Further searching, seems your not the only one with this problem.

Am thinking of returning the 450w psu. Will the 550w be enough?

The 450W should be plenty.
