According to the Tomshardware review these only make sense for eyefinity with high AA settings. They should really do these in package deals, because it seems to me that if you want 1 then you might as well get 2 for it to be worthwhile. :D

you have to get a shed load of adapters me thinks.. Mini DP to DP then to DVI or watever etc.

~100+ quid over a standard 5870, bit poop.

Has already been stated on HardCop 6 screens are ****E for gaming FPS in particular... I think these are aimed more at shows and exhibitions where the Wow factor is more inportant.

If anyone decides to buy one of these cards, check reviews beforehand to see if the cable is included, I wouldnt spend that much money unless they come with at least 2 DP > DVI converters.

They are for standard DP connections like on the current 5800 series, these new Eyefinity 6 use six MINI DP's so you have to get an adapter to turn those into standard DP before you can use the Display Port.
 
I was going to say that's expensive for a 2gb HD5870 but then just ask yourself is there a cheaper way of displaying 6 monitors?

Speaking of cheaper do ATI have any plans for Eyefinity 6 on lower end cards like the 5750/5770?

Yes, use nVidia Quadro NVS card, but they are not suited for gaming at all.

Hence ATI card are very good value considering 6 screens and you can game on them at high resolutions ;)

Why such a difference in price for the DP-DVI convertors? Is the expensive one because it does Dual-Link? Need to save up for 6 DP monitors and I guess mini-DP to DP convertors?

Should have for a good view out of the cockpit ;)
 
creates the fish eye effect though each to their own i guess but i prefer 3 good size monitors , this does give anyone the option though:)
 
The problem with this card is that while it has the 6 ports and the 2GB of RAM, a single 5870 GPU cannot provide the graphical power need to run modern games at high settings on 6 monitors.

If you want 6 monitors for a similar price then the best way would be a pair of 5850's, no doubt.
