ATI 5870 Crashing/Freezing

I Have recently purchased one of these, and it runs great. with the exception of the screen crashing/locking up early into any game i run, it will freeze display a brown colour for a few seconds then everything is fun, windows 7 pops up "display driver stopped responding and was restarted" and then it wont do this again until the pc is off then on again

Is this just ATI being slow to come out with a decent driver or could there be a larger issue?

Apologies if this is in the wrong section

Thanks!

I managed to replicate the Driver not responding issue successfully when I had it a lot on crossfired ATi 4850s. What it was for me was too low vcore. I replicated it on a 4870X2, so I was sure in my situation it was too low vcore.

Now i have the problem with Grey screens and other issues, might that be related to low vcore issues, if so how do you go about raising the vcore just a notch to test?

is it the vcore for the cpu u mean? I've had some funny issues with my 5870 too and my cpu's voltage is set fairly low at 1.15

It was conclusive for me when I had 4xxx series, give it a go and see what happens. I've found ATi cards pick up a low vcore more than a Nvidia through driver stopped responding and the like.
