Hi guys

The card is obviously 1 x 8 pin and 1 x 6 pin, but apparently you can put 2 x 6 pin and it'll work but you won't be able to overclock the card.

If I try this, I get "one of the power cables isn't plugged in" or a v.similar message.

Any ideas? I'm running a coolermaster 850w true power, so should be man enough.

Failing that I assume I'll need to grab a 6 pin -> 8 pin adaptor, or will it need 2 x 6 pin -> 8 pin?

Thanks

Well this hasn't turned up yet, guessing the snow has a part to play.

Popped into PC world and bought a 6 -> 8 pin adaptor which states "It improves PSU compatibility with the latest ATI and NVIDIA video cards using the newer 8-pin connector".

It didn't seem to fit all that well, if I power the machine on I get full GFX fan and a single red LED on top.

If I put it back to 2 x 6 pin I get the same "one of the power cables isn't plugged in" message.

Any ideas?

Guess I'll just need to wait for the OCUK cable to arrive to see what the difference is. Not good, fancied a play this weekend!

I've had a look at the cable and the card and the blocks are different in a couple of places.

Awesome.
