Hi Folks

During the week , I started seeing strange desktop behavior on my Win 7 PC. Whilst I was remote desktop'd into another machine I noticed multi-color square blocks randomly appearing on the desktop . They would dissapear and reappear depending on what application I opened . A reboot cleared it .

I had overclocked my 920 to 3.8ghz 200bus and but temps are fine as i installed a new cooler . I did have the 5970 clocked to 750 but its been like that for maybe 8 weeks now .

I went to play Crysis 2 tonight and to my horror , the menu screen was flickering and scrolling vertically . Same with MOH . I reinstalled the 11.3 cats and its still doing it !

Is my card F&*ked ? Could the overclock have damaged the system bus ?

I did set everything back to stock speeds earlier but those little square blocks still appeared at random intervals throughout the day .

Anyone seen this before ? Thanks
Martin

i get flickering and scrolling vertical lines in crysis 2 with CF at high fps.. also in other games i get scrolling vertical lines on dark images with CF at very high fps.

i had this with every CF setup i had...

i guess it's drivers issue.

Remote desktop can also do strange things to how the desktop behaves sometimes and apps that remote login to other computers or when someone logs into your desktop.. As CraigN said the Crysis 2 issue is well known with crossfire and you need the new caps to fix that or check if they updated Crysis 2 with a patch.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies . I am aware of the Crysis 2 flickering and the CAP profiles fixed that issue when I initially purchased the game a few weeks back . This is different . When the game launches , the screen starts to scroll vertically very quickly . It also does it in MOH so its not unique to Crysis 2 or the cap profiles. To me it looks like a buggered card motherboard fault .

Ok well after trying various re-installs and reseating card i replaced with a spare 4870x2 I had and the artifacts are gone . So it looks like the card may be buggered ?!

Hi

Managed to capture some of those little square color blocks , they appear randomly but sometimes can fill the entire screen.
