My asus 5970 has lately started rattling.i beleive the fan is faulty or the bearing have gone on it,funny thing is it starts up rattling and some times while playing games the rattle disappears,then comes back when i exit games.
I have tried different drivers,tried setting higher.lower fan duty cycle,still no change,
As i bought this card from fleabay,i have registered the card in my name on asus site,but not sure where i stand interms of warranty?
Guess i either email them and tell them the problem and hope they send me a RMA note,or i get one of these?

That is my old Powercolor 5870 Eyefinity card with it's broken fan, happened within a few months of me owning it. Got it replaced by warranty.

Has been the same on mine since day 1. Doesn't bother me and only happens at low speed. Won't affect the function of the cooler, but may annoy you.

Hi,
I have one of those on mine and it is 100 times better than the stock cooler and at 100% fan speed its still silent, my temps idle at around 22-25 degrees
and it makes oc'ing better.

Yeah mine sounds similiar to that 5870,going try get it replaced under warranty,if i get no joy from them then i'll slap on the artic cooler. cheer for you inputs guys

Snap that has happend to the fan on my Powercolor 5870 Eyefinity aswell just sent it back for an RMA yesterday
