Hey guys,

I am trying to play bluray movies on my computer but am having some problems. I have the above graphics card and I think it is to do with the HDCP support of the connection. Only the DVI-I connection has HDCP support, however when I connect to it, my monitor still comes up as DVI-D. Does it mean I need to buy a DVI-I cable for it?

Thanks and I hope this makes sense :)

DVI-I is what the interface is called, it means it can send either digital or analogue signals. Since you've connected it via DVI to the monitor, it will fuction in digital mode, hence why the monitor comes up as DVI-D. Everything is working normally, HDCP will still work.

What problems are you having?

Well I currently have the HDMI connected to my TV and the DVI next to it which should be the HDCP compatible port connected to the computer. I have installed all the software that came with my Samsung SH-B123L/RSBP drive. When I run the bluray disc this happens:

Well I have powerlink 9 installed should I roll it back then?

Thanks for the help

EDIT: Or should I give up on the cyberlink software it came with and find something else?

1. update your Audio driver (DXDIAG reports issue)
2. please install latest patches for POwerDVD OEM Version you use (there should be an pop up message)
3. please check with only one VGA (to narrow down)
4. please check your cabels (we have plenty of posts where issues are caused by bad cables)
5. please be informed that clone mode is not supported for BD playback because of copy protection restrictions

I would give those a try and see if it helps.

I think I have tried all of them. I have even installed powerdvd 11. Pretty sure it is an HDCP issue, but just not sure what I need to do!

Thanks again for all your help

Yep tried that, I think I might have sorted it. It does not work when the monitor is set at 120Hz and thats what it was set at!

Now the only problem is it seems to be running slow!

Thanks again
