ATi/AMD graphics card in an Intel mobo - can it be done?

As in the title really. Done a really n00b thing and bought myself an Xonar DG soundcard. Only thing is it needs PCI v2.2 and my mobo is that ancient that it need v2.2.......
With that in mind I was looking at this:

Now, I've got an ASUS 4850 1GB GC - will it work?

They will work fine together

Edit: Your sound card should work in your current board.

Yeah it will, Quiet a lot of people put Intel CPUs with AMD cards

Manual says 2.0; its over 2yrs old anyway.
Sound-card wants 2.2
