I currently have a 8800GTX with a 6200tc and run three Dell 2408's from them. Obviously I only use the middle screen for gaming.

I'd like to update the gfx cards to two 4890's and run them in crossfire. Can I display 3 monitors when in crossfire mode? Or will I need to keep turning it off between gaming and desktop?

im not sure, dont quote me on this, but i think the 4890 has 2 dual-dvi so you can use 4 displays on 1 card (if you have dvi spliter).

Well crossfire disables, all other card ports minus the primary card.
SLI being the same but can only use one port.

The above post may be worth looking into.

Also why not invest in Triplehead 2go and game with all 3 :) or use soft TH which only requires software.

Triple head 2go is only 1680x1050x3 isnt it? Native on these are 1920x1200.

Think I'll have to get a 285GTX and keep the 6200tc, only other option is to get a 4870x2 and any other ati card to get the 3rd monitor working in desktop mode. It'll be cheaper to get the 285 :(

Yea its 1680x1050x3 max, you can always mix and match forced resolution? ;)

Tbh i think you'll be fine with gtx285, wish i waited a week and got one myself :(
