I have an ATI Raedon X1900X, and in the box there was some cables for what I'm assuming is for capturing video from camcorders/games consoles etc. But I can't figure out for the life of me how to do it. I've everything hooked up to the card, but what program can I use to view/capture the video?

First of all make sure you have it hooked up right. My x1800xt came with two cables, one was a HD component output cables... output only. The other had two composite video cable and two s-video cables on it. Thats the one you have to use.

One of each cable is an input, you can tell by the arrows. You have to hookup what you want to capture to the one with the arrow pointing in, s-video or composite. (Composite seems to be more compatible...)

Now as regards what program to use im not sure... i have been using a program called DScaler to do de-interlacing and record computer game footage with little success, but its the best ive found so far. Basically any video recording program should work, if you select "open device" or anything something along those lines. DScaler allows you to choose between taking input from the composite cable or the s-video cable, whereas some programs i tried only allowed me to use the composite input with no option to choose.

http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/ <- DScaler

Its got a lot of options, but if you read the FAQ and tinker with it you can get it to work pretty easily.
