whats so special about the new drivers?

Wish i knew, could be that EATM feature, but that may not even be in em, other than that im at a loss as to why everyone seems to be clamouring for new drivers all the time, im still using the 6.9's here, and they work fine, so apart from the odd game fix every month, whats special about em.

ati drivers are allways borked. i remember the good old days when i had my nvidia card, when a new game came out no need to upgrade drivers at all, all games ran fine on older drivers and only time i upgraded drivers was when a format was done.

now with ati im constantly finding that when a new game comes out, got to wait for the drivers to sort out the performance/bugs in the game before i can play the game properly.

yeh, im having a nightmare lately with new games, test drive, rainbow6 run like shizl :( only had crossfire a few months and already it seems out of date :(

You keep going on about "the good old days" and generally slandering ATI at every given oppourtunity, if you don't like the way ATI works or the drivers which for the record i have never had a problem with and never been borked, then go back to nvidia and leave the ATI threads in peace :p.

likewise :D , i think us crossfire users need some love tbh, cant wait for ati to add the extra crossfire features.

what features are they adding? I just want it to work full speed in everything, not just older games + 3dmark.
Do you think thatll happen?, if not they gotta go, have to get 8800.

what after my failed 7900 card and stories of borked 8800 resistors, no way will i go back to nvidia. rather have card which has crap drivers than a card that has hardware faults.

either way im not a happy camper

Crap drivers my arse, ive been running my x1900's in crossfire for months using the cat 6.3 drivers and have had zero problems.

You know it's funny. The reason I moved away from nVidia was because of drivers. ATi seems MUCH better.

1600x1200@60hz DVD playback anyone

unfortunately ATi doesn't work well with the triplehead2go so I'm stuck with them at the minute

they are decent drivers, but these new ones suppose to have some new features and fixes which i think it help some of my issues.

where are they? :)
