Very interesting.

My x1900xt can;t quite keep up with high AA+ AF on FEAR @ 1680x1050, or with the same settings + HDR in farcry, so another card for x-fire seems ideal.

My bro has an identical rig to mine, so i think just after xmas il CHIEF his HIS X1900XT and put it in mine with the new ati R600 board for X-fire, and buy him a cheaper x1950pro which will run all his games fine as he's only got a standard 17" tft :D :D :D

does 6.11 mean i can get rid of the xfire cable???

try it and find out. Then tell us the results. Benchies with and without if it works please.

Using the 6.10's I was not able to use hdr and aa in 'call of jaurez' anymore (screen just went all black). This was the only problem I had with them, so I am just wondering if anybody else had this problem or if the 6.11's fix it.

I might just give em a go and report back ;) .

K just installed them and I still get a black screen in 'call of juarez' when enabling hdr and aa. So the 6.9 chuck patch is the latest drivers that can still do it. :(

yep should mean this, personally im going to leave my cable in its no hassle and id prefer it if it does crossfire the compositing chip way as there will be a little performance drop software mode.

Running rFactor I used to get an instant 10-15fps drop when the screen was very busy, for a second or two, then back to 60fps.

With 6.11 I get a constant 60fps.

Using X1950XTX.

I've got X1900 CrossFire (master + slave), is there any point at all to letting it do CrossFire via software instead of hardware? Should I just leave the cable connecting the cards connected?
