ATI Catalysts - problems switching from video to 3D?

Hi guys,

Running Cat 6.5's at the mo, with both services disabled. Display drivers only installed, running ATI Tool for clocking and ATI Tray Tools for tweaks.

Basically, unless I enable 2D/3D detection in ATI Tool, I cannot play videos with WMP, and this also includes any games with intro videos.

The problem if I enable 2D/3D detection is that FEAR messes up when changing display settings (as in hard locks the PC).

What did they change in the cats? I just left the card clocked 100% of the time with previous cats and everything was fine.

Ah ATi have done something that makes video clocks switch to 500/600 during certain videos, ofcourse that = lock.

BF2 does it, either use 6.3s? or earlier or reduce clocks.
