Hi All.

I have recently upgraded from an eVGA 8800 Ultra SC to a Ati Sapphire 5970.

Its been a long while since I last had an Ati product (X1950XTX was the last) and would like a little guideance regarding the Ati CCC.

I have installed the 10.1 Catalyst driver suite. No problems there.

What do I need to do with the various sliders within the CCC? They are currently at the default settings. Do I max out each one, or will my games take care of that stuff for me? i.e. AA, AF, Mipmapping, Catalyst A.I. etc....

I really could do with some input on this.

Many Thanks

JJM

All down to personal preference really. I leave most of them on the option where the application chooses settings. But that's just me.

Cripple.

Ive got the 5870 all ive done is move the overdrive settings to 900 core 1300 memory. left everything else on auto. moved from a 4890 really happen with this card. but not sure how much performance running crossfireX will get me?

I have mine like this :-

The AA and AF, i'll set to Use Application Settings (Ticked), for if the game has the options (so i'll set them there), if not, then i'll untick the Use App Settings, and set them here (in CCC), but for AF, i'll always use 16x.

The rest i have set to (and left on) :-

Catalyst AI ticked Disabled (but slider is fully right)
Mipmap Detail slider fully right - Quality (High Quality)
V-Sync slider fully right Always On
Anti Aliasing Mode left on the default setting (middle) Adaptive Multi-Samp. AA
Triple Buffering Ticked

Saturation (ATi's Digital Vibrance), i set to 115.

Thats found in Desktop and Displays, then you left click the little arrow on the monitor in the bottom left, select Configure, and then select the AVIVO Color Tab.

mmmmmmmm

Just discovered that if I disable Catalyst A.I., the Crossfire is disabled on the 5970, so it only uses the 1 gpu instead of 2.
