I get random crashes when browsing and just generally using windows, i get the bsod with at2. something irq error i beleave, any ideas what it is as its frustrating, as when i then switch off the pc and reboot it takes a few atempts to get the pc booting and the monitor back on.

its a A8N sli premium
Powercolour X1800XT
catalist 6.1 and .net 1.1 installed.

Ram has the volatages and timings set correctly as thought that might be it but nope.

Annoyingly it plays games for like 7 hours straight without a single problem lol.

Please help as i am seriously considering selling all the parts and goin back to a crap pc.

Will do that now cheers for the advice

EDIT: I have 2 videos i am going to upload later that show what i need to do to get my pc to boot, it realy is comical lol.

Here is the video.

Boot up

This video shows how long and how many times i have to do this silly siwtch off and switch on open doors precedure in order to get a brand new pc with brand new components from ocuk to boot.

It realy is crazy. others may have or seen this problem coments and help are appreciated. this is not driver related. but hardware i assume.

Ps. if u get bored jump to 2mins 20 in ;) - video is divx

a lot of people have suggested a power supply problem so may just go ahead go overkill and get a 700watt one lol

The current one is Antec Neo Power 480 with dual 12V rail with 15 Amps & 18 Amps Output on the 12 V rails and it is a Antec True Power Version 2.0 PSU.

So do you think that may not be enough, i though it may be a bad mobo, bios is latest beta and all drivers updated including the new cat 6.2 betas still crashes and still wont boot first time lol

TBH think i will just sell all the parts and get a shuttle.

boots off a 200gb western digital special edition and i have a 250gb connected in the first sata port.

heard a lot about this irq thing, appreciate everyones input and tbh i must have a lot of patience to put up with it lol.

i think i will strip it down completly today and rebuild from scratch. sounds like the best plan and leave everything at default with only the bare essentials.

Can you tell me what a boot table sequence is please. appreciate your help everyone and for watchin my little movie :p

have not tried reseting the cmos yet will do that,

Disconnected everythign except. gcard still same thing tried lots of diffrent memory and still same,

gona try the bios reset

thanks andy but thats always been plugged in, didnt have time to do i a cmos reset al do it when i get in at 4am from work am more awake then lol

well guys am sad to say, the cmos reset has not worked,

nor has strippin down to bare components, so i feel it may be time to sell this board on and buy a new one.

God and i somehow doubt ill be buying an asus :p

if anyone wants a challenge look for this board for sale in the mm at the end of the month who knows it may be fine and can grab a bargain.

o well. no switchin off the pc for me

sja it has done this since new, and the problem is it doesnt boot, it isnt the psu tried a new one it isnt the memory in all configuartions and types as it still doesnt boot and it isnt the gcard it would appear as i just tested it in another board and my god it works lol

tried a x850 pci and it still doesnt boot so i beleave after a few weeks of horror its the board.

I have requested a rma and will send it back for a new one, in the meantime al buy a top of the range board not from asus, and sell the asus when it arrives.
