i just got an ATI X1950 Pro, working great but ill soon be upgrading to a new M/B and Dual Core CPU.

firstly i need an LGA775 M/B that supports crossfire, i could only find AMD crossfire on OCUK site. and also would i just buy another X1950 Pro for crossfire or does it need to be a X1950 Master?

looking at the master card, it is only for the XT-X, the pro says
- Crossfire2 READY (Internal Crossfire Connection) - Just buy another X1950 Pro for Crossfire!!

so that fixes that problem.

now to get the money for it all :)

ill probably go for the AsRock, i dont need an expencive one with good overclocking support as i dont overclock (Stock speeds are already fast enough on the Core 2 Duo)

1 more thing, low cost 2GB RAM kits

I wouldn't bother though as its worthless, be far better to sell the card you have and get a G80, GTS is probably faster than 2x pro's in Crossfire. :)

im not gonna sell it, ive only just bought it. I dont want an 8800 as ive always had ATI and i wont be getting a DX10 card till 2008 when there cheaper and theres actually games that need DX10

i run all my games at 1280x1024, the X1950 Pro can run any game maxed out at that res so i dont exactly need the best card out, and 2 X1950 Pro will be plenty to run all games for the next few months at atleast mid settings

preferably i want a M/B that uses DDR 1 not DDR2 so i dont have to buy more memory and one that supports Pentium D or an AMD X2 AM2

the best advice you are going to get is to sell your card and by a single, faster card like the 320/640mb 8800gts. If you arent prepared to listen to that advice its fine, but dont go asking the questions:)

i dont want to get the 8800 as i am waiting to see what the R600 is like, also i dont need a card that powerful yet as i only run games at 1280x1024
