anyone know where i can buy a longer crossfire bridge so that i can connect my cards to 1st and 3rd slot of my motherboard? im using Gigabyte UD5, 1st slot is 16x while the third is 8x, if i connect my second 4890 card on to the 3rd slot will i see any drop in performance?

Don't mention competitors on the forum, you'll get your balls busted.

The only advise I can offer is to either get an account or find someone else who does.

I'm afraid that for those of us in the UK it's the only option. In the USA you can buy them straight from Asus it seems.

currently its my 2nd 4890 u see im running in crossfire and there isnt enough space between the cards so that they get heated a lot and i mean it went up to 110-120 when i tested them to limits, on idle 1st card is 68 now and 2nd is 50. so i was looking up to find a solution and i thought that if i can move the 2nd card to the 3rd pci-e slot then there would be enough room for the card literally to breathe lol, rest of my pci e slots are empty

ive been looking around for a looong loong time i cant seem to find it except in that auction website u know what i mean. u know any places?

Why can't you buy from that auction site? Also if you look at the listing there is a contact, might be worth messaging.

ah k well im not sure if im going to buy or not yet because nobody said anything about if it would reduce my temps or not, now im 66 at idle on 1st card 49 on 2nd but on full load ill probably get to 110 on the 1st card since its night time. 2nd card stays cool since its fan is sucking up cool air from the case and also the 1st card's fan is drawing in the heat from the 2nd card... there is no room between 2 cards i mean i cant even fit a pencil in there... thats why i was tryin to buy a longer bridge so maybe i can put the 2nd card on 3rd slot and drop my temps... ofc if the 8x wont show any downside on the performance of the card ..

anybody that can comment on these?

I got 1 with my MB when I bought it (la-de-da) and I would doubt that you would notice any degradation on performance

Can you get a pic of the card setup? From what I've seen on the x58 boards the slots are REALLY close together which blocks airflow to the 1st card.

It does, double slot cards nearly touch, 5mm gap. Moving them apart would work. In crossfire with a bridge a 4890 won't slow much, if at all on x8 pci-e 2.0. So yeah sounds like a plan.
