Have you? All I've seen so far are wild and completely unsubstantiated claims.

What Raven doesn't grasp is that we are drip fed technology in order for the companies to make the most profit.

Jumping 40% up over the 580 is a waste of hidden profit. If it is faster it wont be that much faster as it doesn't need to be.

The 580, the optimization on the shaders on the 69** has yielded impressive gains over the 68**, factor that in with the 70%+ shaders over a 6870 and you got 580 busting performance.

Good to know there will be plenty stock of the 6970. For those thinking will the 6970 be faster than a 580, I got news for you, how does 30-40% faster at stock sound.

Of course it will vary game depending but on average expect that performance at stock, and you can quote me on that on the 13th.

555, if you have seen what I have seen you would be selling up whatever card you have and going all out for a 6970. Now look at the 6870, it's basically on par with a 5870 and it only has 1120 shaders, the 6970 has over 1900 shaders which perform significantly better than the 68** shaders, it's a monster.

Come the 13th I will be vindicated.

Here's the specs ran with the 6970, I have been assured the results are 100% legit. Come the 13th the 580 will be shortest lived fastest GPU on the planet ever. 580 even overclocked will not touch a stock 6970. I think that's why Nvidia have rushed the 5*** cards out, they got wind of the performance AMD will soon bring to the market and are trying to make some sales and publicity before AMD clean up.

Well I think AMD have done a very good job of keeping their new beasts under wraps, I'm 100% certain that the 6970 will be a 580 killer.

...and then today. I hope Raven is not related to Michael Fish.

There is a WORLD of difference between finding one particular game and configuration where you can show a 30% delta, and having that as an average improvement. I don't doubt that it's possible to find a configuration where the 6970 architecture will be substantially faster (the same was true even for 5870 vs GTX480 in certain rare circumstances), but it's a long shout from being 30-40% faster on average. Which is what you claimed.

If the 6970 is 30-40% faster on average, as you claimed, then I will happily eat my words and say "that Raven was right". But of course, there is simply no way in hell that is going to happen. Your claim was never even vaguely realistic.

So you got nothing.

I have logic, reasoning and understanding of GPU design.

You have the ability to claim fantasy as fact.
