ATI Demos not working on X1900XT?

Ruby and Toy Store don't work.

What gives?

Is this a known issue?

Toy Store just gives an error saying I don't have DX 9.0c installed and my gxf card doesn't support backbuffers.

Found a thread @ Rage3D which seemed to hint at some registry entries for turning off error recording, but that didn't help.

Have you got the lastest DirectX (full) installed?

Search for 'directX 9.0c full package redist'

OK, downloaded and installed the Feb 2006 Full package, but it hasn't made any difference.

I ONLY have the Cat 6.2 Drivers installed, and NOT the CCC. I'm using ATI Tray Tools and both ATI Services are disabled. Would that make a diff?

EDIT - Installing the CCC didn't help. And it was nasty, so it's uninstalled now.

try removing the drivers completely + driver cleaner and start again.

Common problem - Simple fix

REMOVE reforce or any other program which forces refresh rates.

Fixes the problem instantly.
