I was happy with 7.4 drivers but i was thinking with new games ill try 7.8 win xp 32bit drivers. So i got em, and installed over 7.4 drivers rebooted and its just fubered up a lot. Desktop icons invisable on half of my icons, the text on desktop icons is white and not got any special shading or stuff on as they had before. I checked dxdiag and agp has been disabled. CCC smartgart says all them things are off and when i ticked to retest, it said reboot so i did and nothing changed. When closing windows the windows closing screen where its normally blue with messagein in center on right a bit, and a border top and bottom in blue as well as center, well the bottom border is white. When starting windows the screen has trouble displaying the screen as in has no acceleration for drawing the screen so looks slow transition if you know what i mean.

Im going to go back to 7.4 and prey it fixes it. But what do you supose was the problem, i got the drivers 7.8 direct from ati site. After installing 7.8 over 7.4 i uninstalled btw and did driver cleaner pro and reinstalled em but same problems.
 
Use the ati removal tool from add remove programs, then uninstall the card from device manager, reboot use driver cleaner again (making sure to put ALL the ati filters in), then install the 7.4's and report back.
 
Indeed, installing over the top is a 100% bad idea! ALWAYS use the ATI software removal tool, reboot and install the latest drivers.
 
I kinda knew it might fuber up, installing over existing, but i hear ppl do it and wanted to see if i could as well, saves time uninstalling lol.

Duno if 7.8 will work but 7.7 work kinda, this time i did driver cleaner pro properly in safemode, and all seems well, tho ccc when going to advance mode didnt work so restarted ccc runtime and worked then. Still getting them green dots when i exit moh airborne demo tho for some reason.
 
I get weird stuff like that when I alt tab too much. ATi drivers are not as easy to use as nvidia, but theres omega versions which are a bit better.
I use driver cleaner pro but 8.4 had no user interface at all when I installed it
 
I have the ati restart runtime icon at the top of my start menu :D, can bit just a teensy bit temperamental, especially when using the avivo transcoder.
