ATI Driver

Does anyone know a good driver for a "ATI Mobiliity RAdeon HD 5470", tryed the 12.4 from the ati website and it gave me more problems than fixed anything. For example plugging a screen into my laptop i had to reboot everytime for it to reconise it and for unplugging it aswell

The driver i have atm is from 2010 -_-

I always hear a lot of good things about the 12.2 release but how do i get old ones, also sorry to be a pain but when installing a new driver do i have to completely remove the old ones with a cleaning program? And if so how

I believe you need to check for compatibility before installing graphics drivers for laptops.

That program installed the 12.3 when the 12.4 wasnt out and ive had problems with them both so i dont udnerstand

Well, AMD usually release the new driver on the last wednesday of the month. So, if you can wait another 24 hours you should be able to try the 12.5 drivers.

Is there a certain way of installing drivers? I hear a lot of people talking about certain programs to wipe the reg etc

If you checked the driver manually you'd have seen it installed 12.4, the 12.3 label is a bug. That little program is the correct way to get the mobility drivers.

Messing with the registry in any way is not needed. The fact your even asking put you in the stay well away category.
