ATI drivers bluescreen on uninstall

I've been having a lot of trouble with ATI drivers recently. The problems started when I installed the 10.10d hotfix drivers. I have always updated to the latest drivers and never had a problem but these latest drivers were crashing with Flash videos online and in games. I then installed the 10.11 drivers but they crashed during install. I had a few crashes to installed the 10.10e drivers, only to get the ATI grey/blue screen during install.

Anyway, now I'm trying to uninstall all the ATI drivers and profiles but everytime I'm getting a bluescreen. I uninstalled the CCC but it still shows in the right-click menu (but won't launch). I have tried to uninstall the application profiles but get a Windows bluescreen every time. Now I'm going to have to attempt using a driver cleaner, which I don't want to have to do.

What the hell have they been doing to their drivers recently?

If it's causing bluescreens, I'd be inclined to believe it wasn't actually the drivers that are causing the issues as drivers can be unloaded and loaded without rebooting now. I would suggest giving a steam install of the catalyst drivers a go to see how that gets on.

Driver cleaner should be the absolute last resort as that might really mess things up.

Safe Mode is what you need.

After you uninstall CCC and the driver, and application profiles, boot normally to Windows and see if it hasn't reverted to a previous working driver (which Win7 usually does). If that's the case, repeat process of uninstalling in Safe Mode, reboot and install CCC 10.11 using Custom method. Untick whatever you feel is unnecessary for your needs.

I've forgotten to add, the second time you'll try uninstalling the driver, you'll most likely end up having to do it under Driver tab in your card's Properties window. That will screw up your screen until you reboot to Windows and it will apply the default drivers which you can easily overwrite using Catalyst Install Manager.

I ran safe mode but the Windows Installer process won't work, meaning it's not possible to uninstall them. I then attempted to delete all ATI files manually but was stuck because two were in use (relating to the context menu entry). In the end I resorted to search the registry and blasted any entries related to 'Catalyst', which allowed me to remove the final two files in use.

@Mr Krugga - Yeah, that was the way I had to get rid of the display drivers but it turned out it was the CCC and Application Profiles causing me all the issues.

However, when I reinstalled the drivers the CCC wouldn't work. I then had to manually uninstall it (which failed) and then was able to install the CCC as a standalone component. Very annoying but I at least got there in the end and the drivers are showing up as 10.10, not 10.11 like before. Whether they'll be stable in gaming is another matter.
