ATI drivers keep crashing

Having a problem with Ati drivers I'm runing a ati 4890 asus, while playing online games like fear my monitor just goes black with sound still working the only way I can only get it working by starting task manager and going back in to windows. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this

Cpu i7 920 mob gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5. gpu asus 4890. drive version 09,6

Is your system overclocked.
Temps ok, have you tested 3d win mark or prime to double check for system stability.
