I have a ati 4870 HD I heard tha the GTX 260 is like having 2 ati 4870 Card in sli but i noticted that thr GTX 260 has much less video ram

The 4870 is only a little bit slower than a GTX260 216sp, don't bother...

The original is a tad slower iirc, the 216sp one is faster...

I Read on the net i think it was a video review of the gtx it was most likely posted by a person who favoured the GTX over 4870HD

As far as i know they are roughly the same, and no the GTX260 is not like 2x 4870's.

If it was equivalent to 2 x 4870's then that would be like saying the 260 = 4870X2, which it certainly isn't.

Remember the new cards are going to be released soon from ATI, though sod knows the pricing at the moment.

Guesses range from 100 pounds to a million at the moment*

... you heard incorrectly, I'm afraid.

4870 and GTX260 are very similar in speed.

At best it would be considered a sidegrade. In some things the 260 would be slower, in other things faster.

As I mentioned previously the next gen of cards is being released soon(ish). Would be best to simply hold off for those instead.
