hi fatboy, must be a difficult job at the minute. Was wondering if xfx 5870's are likely to come in on monday. I think i might buy any 5870's if they do come in.

We have a lot of stockariving in on monday. And very few back orders due to the deliverys over the last few days.

I think its because people would be expecting nvidia to be charging 700 in this situation & the fact that retailers are also selling above RRP... could be wrong though
 
I personally don't blame Amd\Ati for the prices. Rrp for the 5850 was set at £199 for release which was very reasonable for such a powerful card. The price steadily increased to £240 and higher. Its now some time since the new cards emerged and we are still at the same price. E-tailors have taken advantage of the short supply and have even rubbed our faces in it. I am not surprised by this, as our world today is driven by profit and greed. Isn't it amazing that all the e-tailors have endless supplies of 5770 and their price has dropped as time has passed. Or am I missing something?:confused:
 
But it is a fair bit better and can almost match a 4890 and is new tech, cooler, less power requirements and Dx11(not a big deal for me) so I would say its good value.
 
Hey Fatboy, I'm new too the forums and this thread + your works have impressed me a lot!

Good job. But was wondering if the monday stock is of all the different manufactors of the 5850s, ordered mine about 1 month ago, and still hasn't arrived. Really looking forward to it's arrival, but was wondering as many others, will the 5850s come this monday? I'm drooling at the thought.

just earlier ordered an asus 5970 because it says it will be in stock 7/12/09

will there be enough in stock from this batch to have my order?
