what is better about vapor x to warrant the price?
Very little now considering the stock fan is virtually silent!

Hey Fatboy, I'm new too the forums and this thread + your works have impressed me a lot!
Good job. But was wondering if the monday stock is of all the different manufactors of the 5850s, ordered mine about 1 month ago, and still hasn't arrived. Really looking forward to it's arrival, but was wondering as many others, will the 5850s come this monday? I'm drooling at the thought.
Thanks, sam
hey fatboy
just earlier ordered an asus 5970 because it says it will be in stock 7/12/09
will there be enough in stock from this batch to have my order?
will these include the asus 5850, fatboy?
Unfortunately not. If you want a card to ship out on monday / tuesday I would reccomend changing over to Sapphire.
Well after no reply i have ordered 1 anyway. Any idea on stock status plz?!?![]()
Damn you Fatboy! I'm so tempted! I bought my i7 a few weeks back to go with my 4870 with the idea of upgrading to a 5870/5970 just after xmas but now I've booked my work holidays I'm tempted to just blow it and get one now whilst you have some in stock and I can enjoy my time off![]()
That or get another 4870 for xfire, not sure if it's worth it though ;/
Hello Fatboy
looked at status for my Asus 5970; said something like in warehouse queue?
just want to know what this means
also my order number is :
OC934130
It means they are waiting for stock to arrive to fulfill your order. Depending on when you made the pre-order and how much stock they get you will either be assigned a unit or you will move further up the list based on a first come first serve basis.
Once you are assigned a unit and your status will change to "Printed at warehouse" which means they are getting ready to package and dispatch your order.
Unfortunately Asus seems to be the manufacturer with the least number of units making it to Overclockers at the moment and you may wish to change your order to a Sapphire which seem to be available more often. The cards are the same but bundled software and warranty lengths may differ.
If they didn't charge you before shipping, then it would be easy, just get ready to hit cancel on one of themIt is possible to have it such that Whichever comes first the sapphire 5970 OC or the asus 5970 then send one to me. they are the same price after all
just want to know what fatboy's opinion on this.
will it be better to cancel order for Asus 5970 (since the order status hasnt changed) and go for the sapphire 5970 OC, since sapphire models seem to have better availability?
or stick with my order?
I just dont want to wait another 2-3weeks, if i have to i will cancel all together, and trawl through google again.
Well Fatboy works for OCUK so his opinion is going to biased towards whatever gives OCUK the money the fastest. Personally if I were spending around £500 on a video card I would want the card that gives the most warranty which I believe is Asus (3 years) whereas Sapphire only offers 2 years.
