what is the best screen to use with my 7970 for 3d.

I'd say the Samsung S27A750D. Great monitor that's in the "AMD 3D" camp. The S27A950D although more expensive isn't "better" it just has a fancier looking stand that increases your chances of backlight bleeding issues.
PS: ATI is no longer a brand name the videocards are simply branded AMD nowadays
