forgive me if im asking a stoopid question but will the HIS Ati X1900XT 512 be compatible with my 939 pin Pci-Express Gigabyte Nforce 4 mobo - non Sli?

For some reason i seem to remember reading somewhere that you need an intel board? lol

Like semi-pro waster says they will work,
I have a HIS 1900XT in my Epox 9NPA+SLI mobo and a 7800GT in my DFI Infinity RS482 rig. :p

ah well hang on - i want to order the HIS card but it says - and i quote OCUK - 'Crossfire Edition Motherboard required such as Asus A8R32-MVP or Intel 975 based boards'

are they just wrong?

Yep, pretty much just wrong. They would be correct if you wanted to Crossfire the cards(that you need a Crossfire capable motherboard but it is rather like saying you need a socket 775 motherboard for a socket 775 CPU, i.e. so obvious it shouldn't need said) but for a single card it makes absolutely no difference as long as it is PCI-E(preferrably PCI-E 16x). deadeyedic30 is currently using an Nforce4 based motherboard with an X1900XT as he says and there are a great many more on these forums who are using similar systems without any problems. :)
