I've had endless trouble overclocking my X1900XT.

"ATi overclocker" works, but you have so set it again after a reboot.

"Rivatuner" doesn't handle the dual frequencies for 2D/3D well.

"ATi tool" is buggy.

I finally gave up and tried ATi Overdrive in the CATALYST control centre. And I can say, if you don't want to overvolt, this is the way you want to overclock.

It holds the setting after a re-boot, it's not buggy, and 3DMark06 makes a good stability test, followed that up with 3 hours of BF2, and had to let the memory back 1 notch to stock, but the core is at 668Mhz, past XT-X speed.

I dunno about the X19xx series, but for the HD2900XT ATi Overdrive just doesn't go high enough, its pathetically capped low.

AMDGPUClockTool is the best solution I've used so far.
