ATI overscan / underscan issues with HTPC / TV

recently bought a new TV. that is the only thing I had changed

same resolutions 1080p but this tv is a 55" and not a 42" as my old one.

old TV, all I had to do was adjust the overscan/underscan option in the ATI CC and it fitted perfectly around the screen. no borders and no lost pixels.

now with this new TV the right hand side is slightly wider border than the left, this means when I correct with the overscan/underscan slider it resolves the border but actual pixels/image is pushed off the screen.

sometimes it even resorts to the left side being wider.

nothing has changed, HDMI cables are the same. only thing different is the TV

TV is fine with sky HD signal.
 
My Panasonic plasma does this. I lose 1-2 pixel rows off the picture on one side or other. The side it's on is random (any of the 4 sides) and can change whilst I'm watching it. (not that I notice it move) I think it may be the pixel orbiter feature for reducing image retention.

I can confirm it must be the tv.

I have a new amp and graphics card and it still does it. Old tv didn't

Old tv was panasonic pz70 new TV is panasonic vt65

I have somehow managed to get it perfect but then I reboot to test then there is extra black no one side, and that side can be random.

I am not even sure how it s digital orbitor as the scaling just doesn't fit.

For example

TV has overscan enabled.

By default htpc does not have full screen

I enable GPU scaling which has full screen option greyed out

I then use scaling bar to make picture full screen but it doesn't fit. One side usually the right, but this can change to the left has more black down the side.

If I increase the image size it fills the black so I know it can take an image but then the other size loses some of the image to overcompensate.

It is as if the screen image is not central and needs shifting slightly.

It is driving me nuts
 
Are you sure it's not just pixel orbiter setting on your tv?

This moves your image round to prevent image burn.

In ccc
You need ycb444 pixel format
1080p 60hz
Don't use enable gpu scaling
under scaling options have it on 0% overscan

on your tv make sure aspect ratio is on 16:9

If this doesn't sort it out I would try in the tv section on here or sign up for hdtvtest.co.uk and ask someone on there for help.
