Guys, I have just read the following from a thread on another forum:

"I basically spent an entire afternoon trying to get Company Of Heroes to work with the 6.12's with no success. The only way I can get AA working is to install driver 6.11 or older. The brand-new 7.1's don't work either. I read a "review" of the 6.12's, and one site reported a "HUGE" gain in COH with AA enabled over the 6.11's. Something tells me AA wasn't enabled in this benchmark at all, especially since ATi hansn't mentioned any performance gains in COH in any of the later driver releases. AA seems to be working fine in all other games I play."

This is very interesting!, as it re-iterates that a lot of problems (Iam not saying all) with the game instability, and ATi cards seems to be the drivers. I own a X1950pro (AGP) and don't know if the older Cats 6.11 (Nov06) fully support my card. Can anyone shed light on this matter?, as it was only released in December!. I will roll back the drivers tonight to the 6.11's when I get home, and keep you posted!. I would be interested to hear other ATi owners views on the matter, and start to gather information on any changes, or successes they may have encountered in the game, by going back to an older driver release. (6.11's or older) I am not saying this is a fix, but it will definately allow ATi users with more powerfull cards to set AA on as they require. I look forward to hearing your comments on this common matter!

No problems with CoH using X1900XT either ,Using 6.12s:confused:,not tried it with 7.1s yet though

Just ran the CoH performance test, everything on high/ultra/AA enabled with the 7.1s & get a slight boost from the 6.12s

Thanks for posting this!

The last time I actually played CoH was when I had the Omega 6.9 drivers and I never bothered to run the CoH performance test after installing the Catalyst 6.12 drivers, until now. I'm not exactly sure what I used to get before but I recall it being around 45fps average. Now with the exact same settings using the Cat 6.12 drivers, I get 66fps average which is a nice jump. I checked for any visual artifacts or missing AA, but its all there, same as before. :D

i been usng the drivers that cam with my 1950 pro they are modified 6.9's works a treat and aa is on. first official drivers tat supported 1950pros were 6.10. and have seen several peopple reporting probs with 6.11's.

Using 6.12s on my X1900XT 512 mb, playing Company of Heroes - most of the time - absolutely zero, zilch, no problems with everything maxxed out at 1680x1050 :D

That is my point I don't think the game runs with AA on even though it reports it!

AA is working fine here and always has. I have it enabled in the graphics option menu and I can clearly see the edges being anti-aliased (I think it's 4x, but it may well be just 2x).

I'm just wondering where the extra performance is coming from in the Catalyst 6.12 drivers. This isn't just the x1900 cards that it is affecting but also the low end cards and the x800 series too. You'd need a pretty good overclock to get the same performance increase.

6.9s here agp 1950pro. CoH runs well and AA is on err i think but sometimes the fog of war transition looses its smoothness and goes blocky.
