I know it has been talked about a lot before in other threads. But does anyone have any benchmarks for an ATI card runnng Batman AA, with something like a 8800GT doing the physx using the windows 7 hack?

I have been looking around and can't find any benchs and I want to know whether to hold onto my 8800GT and plop it in with my 4870x2. I know some people consider it pointless, but if it will let me keep mega frame rates while enabling physx, I'll grab myself a passive cooler for it and won't even know it's there :)

Cheers

is physx that important? i plan on getting a 5850 and playing batman and im ditching my 8800 gtx like a hot coal. what does physx even do i have no idea

Look up physx on youtube to see what it offers.
It's a gimmick, but the effects look nice imo. I have the card doing nothing so I will test it when Windows 7 arrives, but was kinda curious if anyone had any info before I try.

batman is a fantastic game, i was loving it until my card started artefacting all over the place and crashed my system, desperate for a new card so i can pick up where i left off, im also gonna give crysis warhead another go

It shoud run fine if the GT is solely going to be the PhsyX card, as i think its only when Nvidia cards are used on their own (so they do both the rendering and PhsyX), they take about a 30/30+ frame hit.

Runs flawless maxed out at 1920x1080 with 8xAA applied with PhysX disabled on my 5870, but still takes a hit when using my 8600GT for PhysX on the 'normal' setting, around 40-45FPS in places, rarely goes lower.

I'm guessing an 8800GT would fix that with it's 112 cores vs the 8600's 32 :p
