Treated myself to this card & when I download driver either from CD or ATI website the max resolution goes down to 1024x768 which looks terrible. If I uninstall I can get 1280x1024 back. The 19" monitor has only a vga imput the card only dvi output & got a good quality lead for it.M/board is a Foxconn matx. Any ideas anyone?
 
What did you upgrade from? Did you remove the drivers? Could onboard vga be conflicting?

Tried forcing the res? (Power strip?)
 
old 1 was a X800 Will make sure onboard vga is off (was for old card but will check again) then try forcing it - thanks
 
Have reinstalled everything & still the same. Have forced it on ati catalyst & it goes to 1280 x1024 but when I turn off it goes back to 1028 x768, how can I keep new setting?
 
Noticed the fan keeps stopping so had a long chat with ATI & after a few tests they said its faulty, so its going back
