Hi, I currently own the above card and it runs great. However, i used to own the 6950 HIS, until the temperature sensor broke and put the fan on 100% all of the time, so i was sent a replacement. My big problem is, now that i have my new graphics card, Photoshop CS5 has sopped working altogether, there is no image displayed in the main area, and i cannot place a image there, or start up by going "open" etc... I managed to find a performance section where i was able to disable the use of my graphics card assisting photoshop, and then it all works fine, but as soon as i click anything other than paint brush, it crashes completely, and my pc is unable to close the application until i shut down. My PC specs are, AMD (something quad core, sorry for being less specific) 4GB ram, 6950 AFX, and Windows 7 64Bit (it ran on the old card with 64bit before you point that out :P )
I have checked online for anyone else with this issue, but i cannon find anything, i have sent a similar message to adobe and awaiting a reply. So i was just wondering if anyone here had any ideas :)

Thanks for your time.

Do a proper re-install of the driver. Un-install - reboot - reboot to safe mode - run driversweeper - reboot normal - install driver.

And before anyone starts going on about driversweeper not being needed, I have had it straighten out bad uninstall/installs several times. Use it.

ALSO: If you used a different driver version with install of the new card, go back to the version you know was working.

Don't use it, had to do a complete W7 re install after using it:(

Ghost Devices and drivers may/may not be your problem, worth a shot and only takes two minutes:

After doing the steps described, if you expand 'display adapters', delete any other 6950(or other older gfx cards) devices that's grey'd out.

Well, I knew that was coming. But I have had the opposite experience, several times, where I avoided an OS re-install by using it. With out using it I could not make the driver operate properly and would have had to re-install the OS.

Another way to remove Ghost Devices (although i have never had it help a problem, it couldn't hurt):

1. Type: CMD in start's search box
2. Right click on CMD from the list and Run as Administrator
3. At the dos prompt typed: set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 (this will show all hidden devices in Device Manager)
4. Type devmgmt.msc (this will take you to Device Manager). Click on View and select show hidden devices
5. Look in Display Adapter and for any grayed out video cards and uninstall them (or any old video card devices). Then check your Monitors

It works both ways, if you are lucky then :D all's good, but if you are unlucky, then like me and others, it's an OS re-install nightmare.:(

Imo, caution should be advised when suggesting driver sweeper.:)
