ATI release full 7.1 drivers for Vista

Hi

OK am i doing something wrong as i get a 'Fail' to install drivers and software apps when i run this , same thing happened on RTM Betas ?

cant install manually either as vista gives me a 'cant read from device' error

running an x1800xt 512mb version .. CCC installs but of course there are no options for FSAA or AF or anything as the drivers arent there :( .. not encouraging stuff
 
meh,

cant get them to install,

says i dont have any ati products installed WTF lol

so my x1950xtx isnt an ati product now ;) lol

Tried un-installing, re-installing an so on.

Vista 64bit btw business edition :(

im running the same card as you mate..all seems to have installed ok.
i can see and alter stuff in the ccc.
aint tried my games yet, will do tho tonight !
 
Resolved my issues.

If any of you have the asus beta drivers installed, you need to remove them fully first, and get your card working on the ms drivers.

Then try to re-install the ATI Cats.

Worked for me.
 
OK an update ... got it to install .. not sure what i did though .. lol

i turned off anti-virus , i also used the multi-language package , once finished i got an error and message stop app or let windows run in the old way .. lol .. so in the old way and woooo the driver are on and running with CCC and all options working :D

using Vista x64 Ultimate by the way so not actually sure what i did but in the end it worked and i have the official drivers running

UPDATE::::

ok a very very quick test of FEAR .. previously with in game FSAA at 2x i got average 24FPS in the test and 45% below 25 fps .. now average went up & 99% between 25 & 40 FPS with CCC set 4x FSAA & 8xAF

CCC is almost the same cept the vid demo is no longer a car but now a fountain in a yard with current and new slit screen views , will grab a screenshot later if no one beats me to it

Used the update function in the new package - had beta running prior to that. Seemed to go ok but on reboot CCC didn't seem to load up. Reran software using 'run as admin' function - worked a treat, all loads (although 3d preview doesn't seem to work)



This 'run as admin' stuff could really start to hack me right off........ :mad:

Ain't it great no-one has a clue how to install anything anymore :eek:

I was using the beta and had to completely uninstall everything including the dirver and then install the new package from scratch.

Just played an hour of half life 2 episode 1 though and everything seems fine. Not the most taxing game for my X1900XT but there seems to be less jerkyness than with the betas.
 
I think the previews for AA etc are different aren't they? I've never used CCC before as I previously used Omegas. It also takes around 1 sec to open CCC in vista whereas it supposedly took a lot longer before?
 
Just tried to play GL Quake under the new drivers. Abysmal!! Even worse than the beta - at least in the beta you could kind of make out what was going on. No hope of that here at all :D
 
Yeah the non Vista CCC has a car animation that changes in real time when you change your AA/AF etc... settings, wouldn't know on the time as mines always opened straight away like that, i know loads of ppl have been complaining that it takes an age to open, but it never has for me, i double click it etc... opens straight away. :)
 
CCC in XP use to take 30secs+ to load (when I used it)..!!!!

But it takes 1 sec to load in Vista now :D right click desktop select CCC and it's there..!!

Loads of ppl are getting a slow loading CCC in XP, never had a prob here as said above. :confused:
