ATI (Secondary monitor problem)

Hi all,

I have a weird problem when I try and play DVDs on my secondary monitor.

When I'm trying to play a DVD using WMP or Nero Showtime on the second monitor the sound and video plays faster then normal but I don't have this problem on the first monitor.

I swapped my card from an Nvidia card to this ATI 1950pro, I assume its a driver issue since it never used to do this with my old Nvidia card. Also it does not effect other playback like music or xvid/divx playback.

I have tried playing around with some settings in the CCC but to no luck, I have changed my drivers as well from the 7.5 or .6 to the new 7.7 drivers but the problem is still here.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Use a program like DriverCleaner after uninstalling your drivers. Also go to your C:\ drive and delete any ATI/Nvidia folders you can see (If you have an Nvidia chipset then go into the Nvidia folder and ONLY delete the graphic driver folder).

Restart, put new drivers in and that should be you hopefully.

I've got a dual display with my x1900 and it's fine. One screen is a CRT and the other a LCD. I've never had a playback issue other than my x-fi sound card being in game mode which resulted in out of synch voices. Switch to Entertainment mode and it's fixed though.

I wouldn't try the 7.7's as I think ATI are mainly focused on the x2900. The 7.6's have been ok for me but if you think you could do with a better driver then maybe try 7.2's and if that fails then 6.11's and 6.12's are good sets.

Just put on the 7.2 CCC after I uninstalled the 7.7 and I used driver cleaner but the problem is still there.
No idea what else I can do, there must be a daft option somewhere :S
