What sort of temps can i expect from testing with ATi Tool for artifacts. Just ran for 4 mins ish and i got 76 ?. I then stopped the test. My 7900GT Auto detected 590/790 with coolbits i then bumped memory upto 800. All is fine in games. Are temps supposed to get that high? Got me thinking whether to reseat my Reserator VGA Block.

Justin

76 on water is high. Whats your cpu hit as reserator is passive. Even so id expect around the hight 30's on a reaerator as load on good water is 30 or so for gpu cards. Definitely reseat it - and those clocks arnt bad especially seeing your temps are that high. Also use a differeent sofware to confirm temps as ati tool is for ati cards so might not be right on a 7900

I usually get idle cpu of 34 ish 4400 @ 2.6GHz and idle is 43 ish on GPU,

Load, when i have checked after BF2 or something CPU 41 and GPU 51ish

Just reseated, played TRL for 20 mins 80c cpu was at 37, so it must be the seating of the vga block. Will have to drain later at an appropriate time. Not 3am.Remove tubing from vga block and reseat.

for temps i have used Everest

Right, just done another reseat and 51 seems to be the max after 4 mins. I think this is better, Still feel like i want to reseat it again. Sure it could be better, what do you think?

Might take my card out of the loop and get one of these vf900s

Are they the best cooler out there at the moment?

Justin

The Zalmans are great from my experiance. There are a few other good solutions out there too, but not that many people on this board have tried them. Everyone who's used a vf900 has been impressed though. Quiet on max, silent on min and great performance compared to any stock cooler (7900gtx and X1900XT stock coolers apart).
