ati tool question

does it need to be left in the taskbar all the time to reserve overclock settings? or will catalyst control centre overwrite it if exited.

Does it need to be started every time the system starts?

oh im at 688core 765mem on X1800xt much more on the mem and artifacts appear/it crashes and resets t default

Yes you will need to keep ATItool up for the overclock to be in effect. Overclock it then save the profile. I always start ATItool manually after loading windows, had some issues with it starting on windows in the past.

does this mean i have to close catalyst control centre aswell or does ati tool overwrite catalyst settings?

I've always had the control center still up in the taskbar, ATItool looks to override CCC.
