Ati tool

At the moment im using ati tool 0.27 to keep my card cool when running graphically demanding games, ive noticed before i activate ati tool my gpu temp is around 45'c, after i activate it to start cooling it hits around 65'c when i give it some work to do, it stays at that temp regardless of what im doing even if im on the desktop not running any graphic apps, but when i switch it off the gpu temp goes back to 45'c :confused:

I think what you're referring to is this:

When ATI tool is not running, the card will be at it's 2D clocks to save power and keep the heat down.

When you start ATI tool, it brings the card up to it's 3D clocks. This is probably what's bringing the temp up.
